We asked the Lord
for 1000 and He gave us more. We asked the Lord for nice weather
and He gave us more. We asked the Lord to allow us to make an
impact on our community and He gave us more.
Thanks to the Lord
first and foremost, but also many thanks to all the CSBC members
and friends who participated in one of the highlights of my
church life. It was a great night to light up! And you truly did
“Light Up the Night” in the name of Jesus Christ, who is the
“Light of the World”.
We are already
making plans for next year. We already are praying about how to
improve our efforts to reach out to our community and win the
lost and reclaim the unchurched. Praise the Lord.

For Southern Baptists,
The Bigger Breakfast 2010 theme is “Grasp the Vision.” The
Bigger Breakfast’s primary objective is to gather men across the
Southern Baptist Convention to launch a 40-day prayer plan for
spiritual awakening among men in North America.
“Our churches need the
time, commitment, and passion that men bring to the local church,”
said Jim Burton, the North American Mission Board’s Mission
Education Team Leader. “Many churches want to launch or re-launch
ministry with and to men. Our hope is that The Bigger Breakfast
will be the gathering event for launching that vision and a united
time of prayer.

A journey that began way
back in January 1981 with a small interruption along the way, culminated
on Sunday, August 15 with a packed house, special music, heartfelt
speakers, tears, laughter, smiles and hugs and one great catered meal.
Ray and Vanessa Conway
are in fact two of the very best and we are grateful and fortunate to
call them ours and for them to call us home. God bless Ray and Vanessa
and thanks to each of you for the thousands of ways you have impacted
this church, this community and all our hearts.
Many thanks to Mike
Thrift and the steering committee for this celebration. Enough cannot be
said, but praise the Lord for your vision, your diligence and your
tireless efforts. Each part of the celebration was just an extension of
a very successful ministry that we celebrated this past weekend.
