The completed circle extended around the entire sanctuary. Click for enlarged picture. Our Church Renewal Weekend concluded on Sunday evening, October 9 with a Spirit-filled 3 hour service of worship, testimony, song, praise and prayer. The Sunday night celebration service was the highlight of a wonderful weekend as we evaluated what the Holy Spirit has been saying to us. Dozens of our church family gave powerful, joyful, and tearful testimonies about what the Lord is doing in our lives. The entire weekend was a powerful time of family building as we renewed our relationship with the Lord, and as we remembered who we are and Whose we are and reflected on where we are along our Christian Journey.
We are grateful to the wonderful visiting team of Christians from other churches and several states, who led us in praise songs, testimonies, and small group worship and who became part of our loving church family for the weekend. Thanks also to the dozens of our family who stepped forward in leadership and team work to make this weekend a time of Spiritual Renewal. Special thanks are extended to those many volunteers providing the delicious fellowship dinners, wonderful morning coffee prayer meetings, visiting team member accommodations, and numerous other gifts of time and love! The weekend actually began (schedule) on Thursday afternoon with a 24-hour prayer vigil, continued Friday night with a Fellowship Dinner in the Family Life Center, which was followed by a general session in the sanctuary. There were meetings in our church member’s homes on Saturday morning and separate meetings for men and ladies at lunch. Saturday evening the church regrouped for another meal and general session and special family prayer time. Sunday morning, our Sunday School time was used for testimonies from home church members and a special Sunday Worship Service completed the visiting team member’s part of the weekend. Listen to the Church Renewal Sunday Morning Worship Service podcast from October 9, 2016: Listen to powerful testimonies and messages from our visiting Lay Renewal team members.

We are so very thankful for every child present and extend our thanks to the parents and grand parents who allowed us to teach their children. Thank you to our church volunteers, staff and teachers for their work during the week. We are so very grateful for many more in our church family who contributed money, donated giving tree items, prepared and brought wonderful treats during the week and lifted countless prayers for us! Without a doubt, the entire body of believers at College Street participated in some way during this great week of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

On Sunday, May 15
From Pastor Ken: On Sunday, May 15th, we enjoyed having Bob Foy and his wife Phyllis as our guests in Sunday School, in worship and in our Church Council meeting. Bob represents our North American Mission Board and the NC Baptist Convention. He has been leading Church Renewals for a number of years now as a layman. Thanks so much to everyone who attended the Church Council meeting following Sunday School and Worship services. We have been praying for a clear answer to the question, "Lord, should we enter into a time of Lay Renewal and Church Revitalization? At the end of our meeting we made the following decision: We have agreed to recommend that we enter into the “Church Renewal” Weekend the weekend of October 7,8 and 9, 2016. August 14 is the date for training for our steering committee members. Please give this your prayers. If you have questions or comments please let us know. In the meantime keep praying for the Lord's will.
