Prospective Minister of Students
Weekend
May 18 - 20, 2012
For nearly a year our search team has
prayed and looked over resumes and “skyped” candidates and
interviewed individuals in our search for our next Student Minister.
The team has come to the end of a long journey and is presenting to
you the name of Rev. Tim Shaw to become our next staff
member. During the weekend of May 18-20, the church will have
several opportunities to meet Tim, his wife Christy and their two
young boys. Thank you for your prayers in this process and we look
forward to seeing how the Lord will work.
Schedule of Activities for the
Weekend of May 18-20th
Friday, May 18th
- Youth Pizza party at the home of Steve and Debbie Syck beginning
at 7:00 p.m. Youth and parents are invited to attend and meet the
Shaw’s. A bonfire will end the evening with a share time for
questions and answers.
Saturday, May 19th
- Children and Parents drop-in held at the church dining room to
meet and greet the Shaw’s from 10:00 a.m. until noon. A question and
answer time will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, May 19th
- Church-wide drop-in held in the church dining room to meet and
greet the candidate and his family from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 20th
- Joint Youth Sunday School Class in Youth Room for a meet and greet
with Tim Shaw. He will respond to his weekend visit and answer
questions and share a vision for the youth.
Sunday, May 20th
- During the morning worship service a called conference for the
purpose of presenting and voting on Rev. Timothy Shaw as our next
Student Minister. Rev. Shaw will be formally presented to the church
by the Search Committee at this time. He will share a brief
testimony and prayer before being excused. The church will be given
time for questions and a ballot vote will then be conducted. If the
recommendation is approved and he accepts, Rev. Shaw will then be
presented to the church as the new Minister to Students.

College Street's Mission Vision Trip
Photos from the February 10 - 16, 2012 trip to Oaxaca, Mexico

Above are our team members with Alex, an
IMB seminary student, at an overlook above Oaxaca. Alex served as our
interpreter as we worked in several nearby villages. Thank you for your
prayers as the team explored opportunities to work among unreached
people groups, as well as the possibility of working with the seminary,
orphanages, and missionaries already in the field. The team will make a
report to the church at a special service soon.
