Special Sunday School and Worship Event - Sunday, May 15, 2016
Special Guest Speaker - Dr. Bob Foy, North American Mission Board

From Pastor Ken: We are praying for a clear answer to the question, “Lord, should we enter into a time of Lay Renewal and Church Revitalization?” And, “Lord, if we should do this, should we enter into a partnership with our NAMB to accomplish this task.” The Church Council and our Deacons have voted unanimously to invite Bob Foy to visit with us on Sunday, May 15th. Bob Foy who is our NAMB representative (working through the NC Baptist Convention) has graciously accepted my invitation to come to our church on Sunday, May 15th to explain the “Church Renewal Journey” to our church and to answer questions.

The plan is to let Bob use the Sunday School hour for a jointly held session with all our adults and our youth classes. We will hold this hour in the gymnasium and provide refreshments and coffee. His presentation is 45 minutes long with time following for questions. We will want to start promptly at 9:00 am with fellowship and 9:15 am with the presentation. He would then present a 9 minute video in the morning worship with some explanation about the process. Following that service will be our regular Church Council in which we will further consider if this is the direction we wish to go.

I want to encourage everyone to consider attending all of these scheduled events and to ask others to be present on Sunday, May 15th for an overview of what this may mean for our church. But more than that, please put this on the top of your prayer list!

Spring Finale Celebration - Sunday, May 1, 6:30 pm

Preschool Choir Presentation. Click each picture for larger image.

Our M*A*R*K CLUB (Music and Recreation for Kids) and BIBLE QUEST ministries held their Spring Finale Celebration for the 2015-16 school year on Sunday evening, May 1. Following the MARK Club classes, there was a wonderful time of fellowship with the children and their families! Then the Preschool, K-2nd, and 3rd-5th Choirs celebrated the finale and "graduation" with the congregation through a wonderful music program. Thanks to parents, family and friends for attending with the children for this special fellowship, meal and music presentation. What a special time! Thanks for your great support throughout the year, and if you have not helped in either of these ministries before, be thinking and praying about your involvement this fall.
